Sorry for the delay in coming out with Grades version 3.0. We have gotten very close to a market ready update however with the release of Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich many of our concerns with the Android APIs such as the calendar and data/backup support have been addressed and therefore we are going to fashion version 3.0 to SDK level 14 (ICS) and potential compatible with Honeycomb for tablets. This means that many devices probably won't be supported (at least initially) when the update is released, so we're looking into the best option to make the transition to an Ice Cream Sandwich quality app a smooth one for all. Thanks.

It has been a while since I've updated everyone on the current state of affairs for Android Infinity. We have always been a very small software development company and late last year I was left as the sole developer and founder keeping the company going and updating apps as I saw fit and as requested by customers. Recently I was hired by a large prominent software company and will no longer be able to devote nearly as much time as I have been able to in the past towards my apps. The only app that will receive future updates is Grades Student Organizer given its large customer base and unparalleled feature set on the Android Market. As far as that app is concerned, due to recent changes that Google has made to Android Development (the addition of Honeycomb, Android 3.x, etc.) and the lack of support on their part for an Android Calendar API (that gives rise to daylight savings time issues and device incompatibility) complicates matters and frankly it would be easier to start writing Grades 3.0 from scratch than it would be to update the current 2.6 version to be as streamlined, compatible and easy to use as it should be now that I know the limitations of the Android Platform. On that note, I will not be starting my new job for several weeks and will make every effort to release a Grades 3.0 that will be built from the ground up and fix all the minor issues people have been having and make the app extremely easy to use and tablet optimized before that time. This is not a guarantee that Grades 3.0 will be finished before that date or ever released but know that it is in the works and once finished will also be compatible with any saved profiles you currently use. Thank you again for your continued support and I look forward to hearing any suggestions or features that you would like to see in Grades 3.0!
UPDATE (7/24/2011): Grades 3.0 is still in progress. There is no estimated release date as of yet. Check back here for updates.

Today we are happy to announce the availability of Grades Student Organizer on the Amazon Appstore for Android for $.99!
Please visit this link to purchase Grades from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004MSH5KO
The version of the App on the Amazon Appstore has the advantage of being thoroughly tested by Amazon as well as Android Infinity and is not linked to your Google account so you don't have to worry about losing access to the app if you ever changed your phone's primary account.

Version 2.6.5 will be published to the Marketplace tonight. This is a minor update that fixes a few bugs that were uncovered recently and to add support for the Verizon VCast App Store and Amazon's app store. A new feature update (version 2.7) is currently in development and will be ready in the next few weeks.

Today we are releasing the next version of Grades 2.6.4 that includes custom semester labels, a few other convenience features and performance enhancements. We've been iterating very quickly over the past several weeks coming out with updates every couple days because we've had so many great suggestions but we're about to start slowing down as we begin to prepare version 2.7 for a late February release. Also coming soon is the addition of the Amazon App Store, the VCast App Store, and the Bloomworlds family app store to the Android Market as distribution channels for the Grades Student Organizer app.

We have just updated Grades Student Organizer to version 2.6.3. This version includes several small but welcome feature additions including the ability to sort courses by start time in the calendar, the ability to move courses from one semester to another, automatic backups on app launch and support for non-gmail email applications.

NOTE: Please email us if you encounter a bug or have questions about how to use the app. If you just comment on the Market with a complaint or bug we have no way to help you resolve that issue or answer your question. 9 times out of 10 there is a way to do what you want with the app but we can never teach you how if you just leave a negative comment on the market and don't contact us.

Today we released the next major update to Grades Student Organizer. This update includes the long awaited in-app calendar features as well as support for attendance tracking. Because this update includes many new features there's always a chance that it may contain bugs or behave unexpectedly on different devices so please let us know if you run into any problems. We hope that enjoy the new features!
UPDATE: We just uploaded a fix (8:30pm est) to address an issue with the week view not pulling courses with a start date of the current date and also the attendance view not showing the correct course name.

Just a short update on Grades 2.6. We know a lot of people are anxious for the new in-app calendar features and the addition of attendance support to the app. We have finalized the release notes on the new version that is still in development but should be ready for testing in the near future:
Grades Version 2.6 (In Development)
- Add schedule editing option to long press menu for courses.
- Rename 'Schedule' page to Calendar, schedule now refers to individual courses, the calendar integrates all course schedules.
- Add new calendar features: Now (Today) and Week Views
- Added ability to track attendance using the course page.
- Localizations have been canceled, when localizations were active, only .1% of downloads were in non-English localizations.

Grades version 2.6 is now in development. This new version will add enhanced calendar support such as month, week and day views as well as a new "Right Now" view. It also includes support for keeping track of attendance in courses. Because these features require several changes to the base framework of the app it may take a little longer than usual to release especially considering that a new semester is starting for most people (we want new feature additions to be bug free and user friendly!) so we don't want to rush things. Please email us with your suggestions or feedback. You can check up on the progress by visiting the Grades app page.
Update: Here is a screenshot of the new course page in version 2.6. More coming soon!
